He was predeceased by: his parents, George Smith and Coela Smith; and his stepson Michael Richards. He is survived by: his wife Karon Smith; his daughters, Coela Blackstock of Georgia and Sherry Smith of Ohio; his stepson Thomas Richards (Dana) of Anderson; and his sister Patricia Griffin of Auburndale. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
