He was predeceased by: his parents, Grant Smith and Ethel Smith; his former wife Phyllis Elizabeth Bennington Smith; his son Randy W. Smith; his brother James Smith; and his granddaughter Alison E. Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Smith; his son Lawrence Smith (Nelda) of Charlotte, NC; and his stepsons, Curtis J. Steenson, Michael J. Steenson, Richard K. Steenson and Jeffrey J. Steenson. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
