He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Dittmar and Josephine Dittmar. He is survived by: his wife Marlene F. Dittmar; his children, Arthur Dittmar, Jr. (Gail) of Maryland, Thelma Maloy of Maryland and Barbara Schisler (Tim) of Lake Wales; his stepdaughters, Kim Smith of Maryland and Tammy Pennix of Arizona; his brother Les Dittmar of Maryland; his grandchildren, Coral, Taylor, Sarah and Karl, Jr.; and his stepgrandchildren, TeJay and Austin.
