He was predeceased by: his parents, Armour Sutherland and Ruby Sutherland (Smith). He is survived by: his wife Nancy Sutherland; his sons, Jeremy Sutherland (Motoko) of Chantilly, VA and Rand Sutherland (Julie) of Wellesley, MA; and his brother Joe A. Sutherland of Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren.
