She was predeceased by: her parents, Esteban Nieves and Catalina Nieves; and her son Gilberto Vargas. She is survived by: her husband Rafael Martinez; her daughters, Millie Martinez Rivera (Francisco Rivera-Rolon) of Lake Wales and Nidia I. Martinez of Lake Wales; her sisters, Daisy Nieves of Massachusetts, Lydia Rosario of Massachusetts and Noemi Nieves of Massachusetts; and her grandchildren, Gilbert Vargas, Freddy Vargas, Adriana Morales and Ryan Rivera. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
