He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mitana and Mary Mitana (Mokris). He is survived by: his wife Joyce E. Mitana (Nichols); his children, John W. Mitana III (Deborah) and Diane E. Jamison; his brother William J. Mitana; and his granddaughter Jessica Jamison.
