He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Letha Petty (Varner) and Perry Petty; his wife Susan; his children, Martha Jane Petty, Richard "Rich", Ashley C. and Timothy Joseph "TJ"; and his sisters, Mary Ann Larson and Marian King. He was also cherished by 6 grandchildren.
