He was predeceased by: his parents, Allie Purvis and Joe Purvis; and his siblings, Ada Baxter, Eva Hewitt, Hazel Purvis and Leaton Purvis.
He is survived by: his nieces, Marilyn Hawkins, Alice Hunter of Sebring, FL., Linda Rosier of Big Cypress, FL and Bonnie Farnam of Sarasota, FL.. He is also survived by 18 great-nieces and nephews and 38 great-great-nieces and nephews.
