He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Dunlap and Mary Van Shaffel (Van Dyke); his stepfather Lewis Van Shaffel; his siblings, Roger F. Dunlap and Shirley Federico (Dunlap); and his stepsiblings, Thomas Van Shaffel and Barbara Williams (Van Shaffel).

He is survived by: his wife Carol Dunlap (Panacy); his children, Terry J. Dunlap of Bloomfield and Crystal James (Dunlap) of Canandaigua; his grandchildren, Donald Dunlap, Alexandria Lombart, CaBella Chiccino and Konner James; his stepsisters, Sandra Lyons (Van Shaffel) and Rachel Lyons (VanShaffel); and his sister-in-law Pat Dunlap.
