He was predeceased by: his parents, Z. Y. Strickland and Cavie R. Owens Strickland (Lake City); his siblings, Gene, James, Kulon, Jerry, Terrell and Mary; and his son-in-law Alan Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Strickland of Lake City; his children, David Strickland (Lynn) of North Carolina, Ramona Phillips of Lake City and Sid Strickland (Donna) of Lake City; and his sister Pat Shriver (Ted) of Boca Raton.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to the Alzheimer's Association.
