He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Mijal and Ceil Mijal; his sister Rita; his brothers-in-law, Rene Dupuis and Ric Rhodes; and his mother-in-law Ruth Rhodes.
He is survived by: his wife Becky M. Mijal; his sons, Kevin J. Mijal, Kris S. Mijal, James R. Wakefield (April) and Geoffrey L. Wakefield; his granddaughters, Maddie Hessey, Lucy and Mickey Wakefield; and his father-in-law Carl J. Rhodes. He is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
