He was predeceased by: his parents, William S. Fretwell and Dora Rampey Fretwell; his siblings, John H. Fretwell, Charles R. Fretwell, Marvin S. Fretwell, Stella S. Hayes, Leila Ellen Fretwell and Annie Ruth Armstead; his half-sister Willie Lee Northrip; and his stepson Billy C. Cribbs.
He is survived by: his spouse Nora Bryant Fretwell; his sons, Gary Fretwell (Sandra) of Denver, CO, Randolph Fretwell, Phillip A. Fretwell (Louise) and Michael H. Gray; his stepchildren, Victor Mendell, Melanie Ellington (Ricky), Lake Butler, Cherri Ohmer Jacksonville (Patrick), Gale Woodham and Sherry Jean Mendell; and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Tristan, Bobby, Christopher, Phillip Fretwell, Ryan Fanguy, Brandon Gray, Garrett, Garth Ellington, Amber Hughes, Stephanie Bryant, April Dennison, Erica Manglona, Melinda Crowley and Caraline Coombs.
