He was predeceased by: his parents, G. Dale Childress and Shirley Childress. He is survived by: his wife Debra Turner Childress; his children, Wendy Childress (Shawn), Maranda Martin (Josh) and Scott Childress; his grandchildren, Maddie, Brianna (Angel), Marcus, Michael, Brennan, Katie, Max, Peanut and Bella; and his brother Eddie Lay of Kentucky.
