He was predeceased by: his parents, Olan Howell and Elsie Childers Howell. He is survived by: his wife Mary Kay Howell; his children, Amanda Andrews (Matthew), Allyson Howell and Jason Hunt (Kelly); and his brothers, Wade Howell (Roberta) and John Howell. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and numerous extended family.
