He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Butler Carroll and Wilma Thornton Carroll; and his wife Betty Talbert Carroll. He is survived by: his daughters, Joy Carroll, Judy Dukes (Dewayne) and Jill Raber (Roy); his pet Sadie; and also Betty Emmrick. He is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
