He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James C. Mercer and Sara E. Mercer of Wayside, Georgia.; his nephew Richard Skudlarek (Pamela); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Thomas Skudlarek, Kevin Skudlarek, Sara Skudlarek, Katelyn Austin and Kristen Austin; his close friend Peggy Eldridge; and also, Shannon Frady (Scott), Brenden "Kade" Akins, Toby Rush, Makayla Akins and Amy Fluty.
