He was predeceased by: his parents, Art Schmidt and Wanda Schmidt; his sister Julie; his brothers-in-law, Chuck Podolske, Tom Long and Lon Smith; and his grandson Alex Schmidt.
He is survived by: his wife Christy Long; his children, Bryan (Natalie) and Alison (Keith Fratzke); his grandchildren, Andrew, Brady, Jacob, Ava Schmidt, Jake, Taylor, Chloe and Max Fratzke; and his siblings, Charlie Schmidt (Candy) and Carolyn Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the The Pondy Restaurant and Bar (40240 Wabasha County Rd 90, Mazeppa, MN 55956).
