He is survived by: his siblings, Pat Crown, Sandi Cox and Steve Barnes; his children, Shannon Lee Bookmiller (Daniel), Michael David Barnes and Tiffany Barnes; and his grandchildren, Cody Lane Bookmiller (Kaitlin), Cheyenne Lee Bookmiller, Cierra Lynn Bookmiller, Austin David Barnes, Connor Landon Bookmiller, Noah John Barnes and Ensley Cora Barnes.
Instead, the family encourages those moved by his story to make donations to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude's in his honor, reflecting his lifelong dedication to helping others.
