“With my sincere deepest sympathies and condolences to Capt. Sweet’s family! He was my last C.O. of USS Mahan (DDG-42) in 1993 homeported in Charleston, SC at the time. I remember he relieved Capt Jimmie Jackson during my Persian Gulf cruise in 1992 and he served until decommissioning in spring of 1993.
