He is survived by: his wife Joan Simpson; his children, Shannon Simpson (Sabrina Bunnell) and Daniel M. Simpson Jr. (Jennifer Hawley); his grandchildren, Haleigh Hawley, Addison Simpson, Kyleigh Simpson, Tripp Simpson, Brett Simpson and Kynnlee Simpson; his siblings, Debbie Decker (Auggie), Vita Davis, Jim Boykin (Lisa) and Donald Boykin; and his pet Riley.
