He was predeceased by: his parents, Worley Gentry and Emma Gentry (Stanton); his wife Delma Edna Gentry; his son Rev. Jackie "Jack" Donald Gentry; and his siblings, Arvil, Donald Gentry, Myrtle Drake (Bill), Angela Cudd (Fred), Gladys Smiley (A. L.), Jean Clark (Gene) and Shelia Chapman (Steve).
He is survived by: his daughter Angela Sue (Gentry); his grandchildren, Rhonda Gentry Sizemore of Asheville, Cheyenne Gentry of Asheville and Samuel Christopher Gentry of Keystone Heights; his great grandchildren, Corey, Andrew, Christianna, Mya, Ivy, Wilson Sizemore of Asheville, Addie and Jack Gentry; and his daughter-in-law Nancy G. Gentry of Keystone Heights.
