He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxine Potts and Robert Bortner; his daughters, Kay Lorraine and Deborah Bortner; and his grandsons, Nicholas Ritter and Seth McDonald.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Marie Bortner; his children, Trish Bortner, Donna Freebourn (Tom), Theresa Jarrett (Robert), Tracy Puckett (Mike), Amanda Fields (Jimmy), Kevin Bortner, Gerald Bortner and Michael Bortner (Amber); and his brother Ron Bortner. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
