He was predeceased by: his parent Philip F. Kohler; and his siblings, James Kohler and Mary Gursey (Susie). He is survived by: his parent Pearl Kohler; his grandson Scout; his spouse Gail; his sons, Steven Kohler (Stacey) and Jonathan Kohler; his granddaughter Summer; and his brother Edward T. Kohler (Debby). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
