He was predeceased by: his parents, Himmatlal Kothari and Priyamvada Kothari; and his siblings, Dilip Kothari, Dr. Urmila Shah and Nandini Sheth.
He is survived by: his wife Ruthanne; his children, Tamira Barnes (Jeffrey), Shanu Kothari (Peg) and Dilip Kothari (Yoko); his grandchildren, Brianna Nourse (Dylan), Blake Barnes, Brittany Kothari and Samantha Swanson (Joshua); and his sister Surekha Khandwala. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
