Brown (Jupiter, Florida), born in Waterbury, Connecticut, who passed away on September 7, 2018, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Loving mother, grandmother and sister" Jeannette L. Brown, née Lamontagne, age 87 of Jupiter, FL and Southbury, CT died peacefully on September 7, 2018 surrounded by her family after a long battle with cardiac and pulmonary problems. Jeannette was born on January 27, 1931 in Waterbury, CT to Robert J. Lamontagne and Alice Garneau Lamontagne. She was married for 48 years to Donald F. Brown who predeceased her in 2004. She retired from Westover School in Middlebury, CT in 1998 where she worked for 28 years. Her organizational skills and "take charge" attitude earned her several promotions leading up to being appointed the school's Business Manager, a position she held for most of her tenure. She was credited with being instrumental in slashing operating costs and keeping the school afloat during some financially challenging times in the 1970's. Following her retirement from Westover, she and Don became residents of Jupiter, FL and maintained a summer home at Heritage Village in Southbury, CT. Jeannette was a devout Catholic who was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick's Church in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Southbury, CT. She also enjoyed serving on the Finance Committee at St. John of the Cross Church in Middlebury, CT for several years. Jeannette was a devoted mother and is survived by daughters Tricia Brown (husband CJ Karbowicz) of Avon, CT and Jupiter, FL and Kathleen Brown-Carrano (husband Matthew Carrano, Jr.) of Middlebury, CT and three grandchildren Devin Brown Karbowicz, Ryan Brown Karbowicz and Michael Brown Carrano. She was predeceased by brothers Gerard Lamontagne (wife Madeleine), George Lamontagne (wife Viola) and sister Lucille Patenaude (husband Rene). She is survived by brother Roland Lamontagne (wife Laurette) and sisters Doris Roberge (husband Roger) and Leona Kerwin (husband John) and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements: A funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury, CT on Saturday, September 22 at 11:00 am. A calling hour will precede the funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church's Daily Chapel from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
