He was predeceased by: his parents, Golden Matthews and Lula Mae Matthews (Bush). He is survived by: his son Archie A. Matthews Jr. A; his wife Avernel Matthews; his daughter Amanda Matthews of Jupiter; his brother-in-law John D. Glover (Kay) of Dayton; and his nieces and nephews, Marc Hinson of Norfolk, Wesley Hinson of Riviera Beach, Robin Sigler of Norfolk and Daphne Glover of Houston. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
