He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Byers and Patricia Byers. He is survived by: his wife Vicky Byers; his children, Christopher (Andrea), Mandy (Matthew) and Jodey (Michael); his grandchildren, Hannah, Aden, Leah, Anna and Martha; his brothers, Ronald (Sandy), Mark (Janet) and Gary (Linda); and his aunt Kay Fugate. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, internment services are currently being planned for June 2021.
