With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Catherine Josephine Babbitt (Juno Beach, Florida), who passed away on October 19, 2019 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick Gibney and Marion Gibney (Briody); her husband Robert Lee Babbitt; and her brothers, Tom Gibney, Norbert Gibney and Hughie Gibney.

She is survived by: her children, Erin Babbitt-Izzo (James) and Robert Richard Babbitt (Laura); her sister Jean Gibney; her sister-in-law Sheila Gibney; her grandchildren, Luke Babbitt (Kara), Layne Babbitt and Leah Babbitt; and her great grandchildren, Emily Babbitt and Zoey Babbitt. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

“I used to work at Bunulu in the mall and I remember Josephine coming in one day and loving a long pink dress. She asked me to call her if it went on sale. I don’t know what made me do it, it may have been me missing my grandmother but I bought her the dress. She was so sweet and after I gave it to her she came back in and gave me a gift as well. The gift was a handkerchief with birds on it, I still have it. I think of her often and am sorry to hear about her loss. My heart breaks for her family.”
