With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alice Sanders Batey (Jensen Beach, Florida), who passed away on May 11, 2023 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Leroy Sanders Sr. and Mary Helen Carpenter Sanders; and her siblings, Nick, Elmer Leroy Sanders Jr., Geneva Gibbs and Mary Lee Durden.
She is survived by: her granddaughter Lori Alicia; her husband Charles Edward Batey Sr. of Stuart, FL; her children, Charles Edward Batey Jr. (Breann) of Austin, TX and Lori Alicia Batey of Alpharetta, GA; her granddaughter Evelyn Anika Batey of Austin, TX; her sister Myrtle Jonson of Statesboro, GA; and her siblings-in-law, Billy Durden of Macon, GA and Carolyn Sanders of Metter, GA.. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church of Stuart, American Lung Association, United Daughters of the Confederacy, or a charity of choice benefiting children or veterans.
