He is survived by: his wife Phyliss Bennett Dampier; his sons, Willard Dampier and Joe Dampier, Jr.; his siblings, Robert Dampier (Glenda) and Alice Whiden; his granddaughters, Lauren Moody and Tiffeny Norman; and his great grandchildren, Remington L. Norman, Rider Moody and Jaylee Moody.
