He was predeceased by: his parents, Patricia Metzler and William Metzler; and his brother Steve Metzler. He is survived by: his brother Mike Metzler (Tanya); his nephew Garrett Metzler; his sister-in-law Linda Hawsey Metzler; and his niece Shea Moore.
