He was predeceased by: his parents, Mamie Godfrey and Hubert William Hendricks; and his grandson Godfrey James Padgett. He is survived by: his wife Mary Frances Hayes Hendricks of Jay, Florida.; and his children, Nancy H. Padgett of Milton, Brent Hendricks of Jay, Twyla Cotton (Ronnie) of Jay and Karla Byrd (David) of Helena, Alabama. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
