He was predeceased by: his son Todd Burgess; and his parents, Bernice Bush and Otha Burgess. He is survived by: his significant other Helen Louise (Allen); his children, Gerald, Jr. (Tracey), Donna (Warren), Jimmy (Vaneica), Charles (Tracy), William and Teresa (Jeremiah); and his sister Lynett Cannon (Jerry). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
