Linda Elaine Dees Shortt Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Linda Elaine Dees Shortt of Jasper, Florida, who passed away on March 4, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Parke Dees and Juanita Dees; her husband Emil "Mickey" Shortt; her son-in-law Randy Gay; and her sister Vera Tyre Brown.
She is survived by: her daughters, Melanie Gay of Jasper and Amelia "Amy" White (Pat) of Carrabelle, FL; her grandsons, Casey and Cole Cannon of Jasper; her brother Trammel Dees (Laura) of Jasper; her nephew Travis Dees (Jennifer) of Statenville, GA; her niece Annie Knight (Joey) of Madison; her great-nephews, Jake and John Parker; her great-niece Maddie; her close friend Helen Hobbs of Lake City; and her caregiver Verda Mathis (Sam).
Viewing was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Harry T. Reid Funeral Home (901 4th St NW, Jasper, FL 32052). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Hope Baptist Church (6592 NW 48th St, Jennings, FL 32053).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to The Gideons International.
