He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Hunter-Brown and Rilla Hunter-Brown; and his siblings, Luke Brown and Annie Mae Armstrong Brown (Sybil Stewart Brown). He is survived by: his children, Malcolm Brown, Jr. and RunetteBrown Arnold; his stepdaughter Vivian Green Stewart; and his grandchildren, Antonio Terrell Gibbons and Maxine Regena.
