He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Debra Easters Smith; his children, Brett Smith (Mia) and Amber Griffith (Benjamin); his parents, Franklin Smith and Evelyn Smith; and his brother Darl Smith (Latrell). He was also cherished by seven grandchildren.
