He is survived by: his wife Nellie Murray; his children, Andrea Smith (Lawrence), Dana Robles (Samuel, Sr.), Cecil Murray, Sr., Kecia Murray and Jennifer Murray; his sister Alma Smith; his grandsons, LeVar Smith (Kim), Andre Smith, Cecil Murray, Jr., Brandon Smith and Samuel Robles, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Shaquira Allbritton (Austin), LaTierra Smith, Khilayaa Smith, Gabriel Murray, Candace Murray and Cameron Murray; his aunts, Mary Jane Curtis and Mabel Kimble; his niece Linda Wilson; and his goddaughters, Francetta Clinch and Pansy Griffin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
