William (Jack) Edwin Jackson Obituary

William (Jack) Edwin Jackson, loving husband of Joanne Jackson, went home to be with Jesus at the age of 90 on January 9, 2023, in Jacksonville, FL, after a twelve-year battle with Alzheimer’s. Jack and Joanne raised two children Joshua and Janna. Jack was the son of John and Florence Jackson and born on August 30, 1932 in Joy, Illinois. Jack joined the Army at the age of 15 and served our country for four years in the Korean War. After the Army, Jack relocated to Miami, FL where he raised two daughters Kelly and Tracey. He later relocated to West Palm Beach where he met the love of his life Joanne in Sunday school and married her in 1982.

Jack loved to read and spend time with his family. He was very patriotic and loved his country. Jack radiated kindness and joy. Everyone who met him felt loved. At the age of 38 Jack accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. His salvation completely changed his life, and he never lost the joy of his salvation. He owned an insurance agency for 34 years, where he told everyone he met how Jesus changed his life and how they could know for sure they would be in heaven when they died.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, brothers John and Jim Jackson, sister Mary (Jackson) Leach.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joanne Jackson of Jacksonville, his children Kelly Jackson of Lake Chapala, Mexico; Tracey (Jackson) and Norman DesRosiers of Rocky Face, GA; Joshua and Lenina (Lemanski) Jackson of Bryceville, FL; and Janna Jackson of Jacksonville, FL. Grandchildren include Zachary (Amber) Morgan, Colin Morgan and Aaliz DesRosiers, all of Rocky Face, GA; and Chase and Gabe Adkins and Calista Jackson, all of Bryceville, FL. Great grandsons include Keegan Morgan, Zeth DesRosiers and Gannon Morgan, all of Rocky Face, GA, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

We will miss him very much. He is finally in heaven with Jesus. A place he talked about for many years has finally become reality.

"Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:6-8

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:19-20

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." James 4:14

"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:2-3

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
