He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Jones Maddox and Kathleen Mobley Maddox; and his former wife Roilea Maddox. He is survived by: his wife Lee; his children, Sandra Shields (Mike) and Billy, Jr.; his grandchildren, Samantha, Geoffrey and Angelica; his great grandchildren, Julissa, Liliana and J. J.; his sisters, Margo Adams, Glenda Miller (Bobby) and Darlene Morton; and his stepchildren, Karen Dill (David) and Chris Cayanas (Jennifer). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Highlands Baptist Church (2159 Broward Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery (4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218).
