Virginia Charpia Lewis Obituary
Virginia Charpia Lewis, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. She was a resident of Jacksonville, Florida. She was born on Friday, October 23, 1936 in Charleston, South Carolina, to the late Matthew Jackson Charpia, Sr. and Martha Blanche Charpia.
Virginia was the youngest of five children. She was a member of The Palms Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville Beach. She spent her productive work years with Mayo Clinic of Jacksonville as Purchasing Secretary to The Administrator, until she retired at the age of 65.
Many knew her as " Ginny". Virginia is survived by her only daughter, Deborah Ann Wilson-Kujala (Jeffrey); two grandsons, Steven Lee Matthews and Daniel Alan Matthews (Lauren); great grandsons, Steven William Matthews, Wyatt Daniel Matthews and Braden David Bebout; one brother, George Harold Charpia (Joan); one sister, Evelyn Eidson; as well as many nephews, nieces, in-laws and friends. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, John Shelton Lewis, Jr.; one brother, Matthew Jackson Charpia, Jr.; and one sister, Louise Stalvey.
Virginia was a loving mother, sister, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother. Our loving memories of her will be cherished and will be missed by all of us as she begins a new magnificent life with our Lord. She will be forever loved and forever missed.
