It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernell Sawyer of Jacksonville, Florida, who passed away on January 5, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Perry and Lutish Perry; her husband Harold Ernest Sawyer; and her sons, Willie Ernest Sawyer, Kenneth Sawyer Sr. and Darrell Sawyer Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Dexter Perry, Deloris Jenkins (Steve) and Kimberly White (Earl); her sister Catherine Douglas; and her grandchildren, Darrell Sawyer Jr., Eddie Ford Jr., Kenneth Sawyer Jr., Benjamin Sawyer, Latosha Sawyer, Deonna Sawyer, Tahvia Mays, Octavia Figueroa, Derek Gillespie, Kenya Cromwell and Reginald House. She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
