It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vanita Baldwin of Jacksonville, Florida, born in Oak Hill, Florida, who passed away on February 20, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Van Buren and Mary Mosby Baldwin, Sr.; and her siblings, V. B., Charles, Baldwin (Patty), Florence, Meares (A. W.), Jeanne Wheeler (Fred) and Frances Johnson (Robert).

She is survived by: her friend Frances Shaw.

Dr. Baldwin served on numerous committees of National Woman's Missionary Union, Southern Baptist Convention, as well as the WMU Foundation and Florida Baptist Financial Services for six years each. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts may be sent to Woman's Missionary Union, SBC, Second Century Fund (WMU Foundation), 100 Missionary Ridge, Birmingham, AL 35242 or Southside Baptist Church, 1435 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32216.

“My name is Eugenia, I know Ms. Vanita for long time, begins beeing a night caregiver at Brooks Rehabilitation, then at home, until she got better with her health. Then myself and my housband both of us we took care of their house. It was the blessing for Us , to coming to the house. All of us we pray a lot. We miss her and the beautiful prayers. God blessed!!”

Vanita was always so kind to me and I appreciated her Christmas cards and her phone calls to check on me. She will be missed but don’t you know she is having a wonderful reunion in Heaven!!!!
