She was predeceased by: her parents, Forest Garland Brown and Mary Edith Brown (Booth); her husband James Amiel Martin; her siblings, Juanita White, Edith Waller, David Brown and Vernon Brown; and her daughter Sylvia Kay Cooley.

She is survived by: her sister Ruth Ann Munson (Eddie) of Alvin, TX; her children, Robert "Bobby" Lowman (Brenda) of Jacksonville, Regina Diestel (Johnny) of Brunswick, GA and Christopher Lowman of California; her sister-in-law Sandi Brown of Jacksonville; and her grandchildren, Caticia, Nathan, Savannah, James and Alec. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, 4 bonus grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
