He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Eugene Thatcher and Alice May Robinson; his son Jeffery Allen Thatcher; and his siblings, John Taylor, Edwin Taylor, Bernice Marcotte, Joyce Lafave, Bessie Griffin and Hilda Woods.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Helen Thatcher; his sister Anna Wallace (Sonny); his daughters, Suzette Marie Fleming (Dave) and Darlene Anita Roberts (Burt); and his grandchildren, Amber Christine Woodward (Brian), Tiffany Marie Minshew (Travis), Elena Mae Maysonet, Megan Elizabeth Corder (Chad), Della Nicole Roberts, Samantha Lynn King, Sean Miguel Maysonet and Chad Douglas Roberts. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
