He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Hurlbert and Opal Guynn Hurlbert. He is survived by: his wife Barabra Plagens; his sons, Jason Hurlbert (Jennifer) of Charlotte and Bart Hurlbert (Nick) of Gray; his grandchildren, Beau Hurlbert, Keaton Hurlbert, Brock Hurlbert and Meghan Gowen; and his kitty Buddie Lynne.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Parrish Hall. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Redeemer Episcopal Church (7500 Southside Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32256).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Redeemer Episcopal Church.
