He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert John Rennie and Helen Glennaire Rennie; his spouse Nguyet "Kim" Rennie; and his children, MyLan Smith (Tim), John, Jim (Nary), Jeff and Justin (Liz). He was also cherished by seven Grandchildren; five Great-grandchildren.
He collected religious articles and other items for the children, along with monetary donations he and his unit contributed from their pay every month.
