He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Cooper and Cecile Marie McElwee. He is survived by: his wife Julie McElwee; his son Daniel McElwee; his brother Quintin McElwee (Becky); his siblings-in-law, Elaine James, Cindy Fortenberry and John Thaden; his grandson Caelin McElwee; and his nieces and nephews, Natalie Foster, Heather Haas, Brandon Barr, Brittany Barr, Anthony Webster, Iona Miller, Andrew Fortenberry, Elizabeth Linder and David Thaden. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members, and friends.
He went through a difficult battle, and suffered much with Parkinson's.
