Though Richard may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Richard touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold McEwen (Mac) and Thelma McEwen; and his wife Lovie Andreu McEwen. He is survived by: his children, Ray McEwen (Patty), Richard McEwen (Rhonda) and Elizabeth Toney (Darin); and his sisters, Barbara Taylor, Sandra Tyer (Bucky), Peggy Crawford (Dewitt) and Linda Dill (Pat). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Ferreira Funeral Services Chaffee Chapel (1320 Chaffee Rd S, Jacksonville, FL 32221). A celebration of life was held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Evangel Temple Assembly of God (5755 Ramona Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mandarin Cemetery (12135 Mandarin Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32223).
