It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rena Mae Pearson in Jacksonville, Florida, born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on May 21, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Swanson and Christine Swanson; her siblings, Albert Vaughn, Walter Lee Swanson, Mary Smith and Bettie Turner; and her uncle George Lillard.
She is survived by: her husband Nathaniel Pearson of Jacksonville; her children, Debra Pearson-Beasley, Beverly Ann Pearson, Nathan Vaughn Pearson, Chattanooga, Dennis Charles Pearson and Latisha Benefield (Tony); her grandchildren, Terrence Toland, Khyrin Beasley, Donald Swoopes, Jr. (Lesia), Andreya Stubbs, Lefabian Pearson, Nicole Pearson, Kisha Smith, Jordan Pearson, Faith and Toni Benefield; her great grandchildren, Nicolo, Nia Toland, Jordan Mcshan, Donald "Trey" Swoopes, III, Anari, Amoria "Momo", Andre, Alaya "Lay Lay" Sanford, Nataveus, Finley Collier Pearson, Dakota Hamilton, Kolby Cochran, Chyna Smith, Lexis, Joshun and Keshun Reed; and her sister-in-law Madeline Swanson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews other family members and friends.
