He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Olevnik, Sr. and Sophie Olevnik (Kratowicz); and his sisters, Irene Banning and Jeannette Gazler. He is survived by: his wife Judith (Judy); his children, Janna Jones (Wesley) of Boulder, Colorado, John Olevnik (Lynnle) of Jacksonville, Florida and Catherine Forbes (Steven Ahladas) of Highland; and his grandchildren, Divya Forbes, Nathan, Tessa Olevnik, Ellory and Haile Jones.
